The Maintenance A Electrician is responsible for electrical preventative maintenance, rebuilding of major components, troubleshooting, testing, compliance, fire calls, breakdowns and scheduled repairs on large surface mining equipment and infrastructure.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND REQUIREMENTS
- MSHA 30 CFR Part 77.103 certification, (or currently eligible to take the exam), high school diploma or GED and successful completion of applicable pre-employment testing required.
- Working knowledge and understanding of surface mobile equipment including draglines, electric powered loaders and high voltage power distribution network preferred.
- Must be able to apply technical information from a variety of sources and complete projects within established time and budget constraints; computer experience a plus.
- Demonstrable interpersonal skills for the purpose of coaching, instructing, motivating and developing an environment that fosters team work across crews, supervisors and departments as necessary.
- Must be available to work on a rotating 24/7 shift basis and work overtime as needed.
- Ability to work in a variety of conditions and environments as well as the ability to lift, carry and move various types of tools, equipment and supplies repetitively required.
- Must be aware of the hazards and risks involved in the mining environment and demonstrate a pattern of conduct consistent with the acceptance of responsibility for encouraging a safe work environment.
- Consistent history of satisfactory performance, including attendance, is mandatory.
